Drive from Rishikesh to Lohajung

  • Drive Distance:260 KM

  • DRIVE DURATION :10-11Hr

    Our team will pick you up from the assigned location at 6:00 AM and it will mark the start of your beautiful trek journey, the way to reach Lohajung from Rishikesh is quite a long one and will take hours before you reach the final destination for the day but don’t worry the breathtaking views will make for it.

    On your way, you will pass the holy cities: Devprayag, Rudraprayag and Karanprayag. Devpragyag is where the two rivers Alaknanda and Bhagirathi meet and flow on as the Ganges river or the Ganga.

    Lohajung is a high-altitude village and this will help you to acclimate your body for the trek the next day.

    The village itself is surrounded by mesmerizing views and beautiful localities.

    Make sure you have all the necessary equipment for your trek the following day, you can also opt to rent or buy trekking gear from the market of Lohajung, since the village is the starting point of many treks the market is flooded with a lot of trekkers and you will be able to find almost all the things needed for the trek.

Lohajung to Bekaltal

  • ALTITUDE GAIN : 7,662 to 9,950 Ft. TrekDuration:5Hours
  • TREK DISTANCE :6 KM

You  will begin our walk on this day from Lohajung to the Bekaltal campground. Following a filling breakfast, we'll head towards Bekalatal, where you'll be treated to magnificent views of Mount Nanda Ghunti.

After 4 to 5 hours of hiking, the walk arrives at the Bekalatal Campsite via a coniferous forest of Oak and Firs.

Here, you will spend the night in twin-sharing tents.

Trek From Bekaltal To Brahmatal Via Tilandi Top

  • TREK DISTANCE : 7 KM
  • ALTITUDE GAIN : 8,045-10,450 to Jhandi Top 11,450 Ft. TrekDuration:6-7hours

You will go 7 kilometres on foot that day to reach Brahmatal.

You will reach Tilandi Top, which offers the most breathtaking views of the Himalayas, by walking along forest paths.

From there, it's just a short distance over snow-covered meadows to the Brahmatal campground.

Tents will be your home for the night.

Trek From Brahmatal Camp To Brahmatal Summit

Today is the day when you will actually explore the second half of the Bugyals, The Bedni Bugyal. Just like Ali Bugyals, you will find a gorgeous view of the greens with the white and blue in the background in front of your eyes. You will find vibrant and different colours of flowers during the summer. Take your time to enjoy the views, have your packed lunch in the meadows itself, click good pictures and then proceed towards the Ghairoli Patal (follow the descending route) The trail makes its way through the forests, dark, deep, thick forests. Don’t rush walk with your time as there is a high chance of you rushing and tumbling over. You will spot an open ground amidst the forest. It is your campsite for the day Ghairoli Patal. Have a warm dinner and depart to your assigned tents. 

Descending to Lohajung

  • TREK DITANCE : 4 KM
  • ALTITUDE LOSS : 11,570ft to 7,700 ft
  • Trek Duration:3-4hours
  • Altitude Loss: 10,500-7,650 Ft. The final day of your trek is here, retrace your step back to the campsite village: Lohajung. Step back to the Neel Ganga bridge, after that your next stop is Wan village (also known as Ran ka Dhar) If you want you may spend some time with the locals, click some snaps and then proceed forward towards the road ahead, a car will wait for you to take you to Lohajung. After reaching Lohajung, relax, if you want you can explore the local market and accommodate yourself in the guesthouse

RETURNING TO RISHIKESH

  • DRIVE DISTANCE : 260 KM
  • DRIVE DURATION : 10-11 Hr
  • Lohajung to Rishikesh After a yummy and nutrition-rich breakfast you’ll finally bid your final bye to the beautiful village of Lohajung, but you are not going alone a bag full of memories is coming with you too.
 
Health and Awareness

  1. Pulse rate at rest must be in between (60 to 90 beats per minute).

  2. Blood Pressure Reading must be in between (DIASTOLIC 70 – 90, SYSTOLIC 100 – 140 mm Hg).

  3. Respiratory rate at rest must be in between (12 to 20 breaths per minute).

  4. Should not have Liver and kidney issues.

  5. Should not have Diabetes Mellitus, Bronchial Asthma, Heart problems, Hypertension, etc.

  6. No pacemaker implant.

  7. People with Sinus issues, Epilepsy please contact to trek coordinator before booking the trek.

  8. If your BMI is not normal, Please contact our Trek coordinator before Trek booking.

Government Employess

  1. Government Employees can avail the benefit of Special Casual Leave (SCL) when they join us for a trekking expedition. As per the rules of the Pay Commission, Special Casual Leave can be availed for up to 30 days in a calendar year for trekking/mountaineering expeditions through a registered organization. Trek The Himalayas is a registered adventure tour operator by the Indian Mountaineering Foundation (IMF) and the Ministry Of Tourism (MOT).
  2. Trekkers have to apply for leave at least 20 days before the trek departure date.
  3. This service is exclusive to Indian government employees and is applicable only for treks within India.

Kids Guidelines

  1. Junior trekkers (below 15 years) should have a company of parents/guardians.
  2. Trekkers between 15 to 18 years can come solo with the disclaimer form signed by parent/guardian.

How To Reach

Pick-Up Information

  • It is essential for everyone to arrive at Rishikesh (06:00 am)
  • Pick-up Location – Tapovan, Landmark -Nainital Bank opposite Shiv Vilas Hotel
  • Once you have reached Rishikesh, TMV will manage the rest of your travel arrangements, if you have opted for TMV’s pick-up service, you can select this option during the booking process by adding it as an add-on.

Options to Reach Rishikesh 

First, you can arrive at Delhi, Dehradun airport or Chandigarh. The journey from these locations to Rishikesh is explained below.

1. Take overnight train/bus to Rishikesh.

2. Take overnight train/bus to Haridwar and drive to Rishikesh (25km | 35 min drive with normal traffic).

3. Take overnight train/bus to Dehradun and drive to Rishikesh (50km | 1hr 20min drive with normal traffic).

( We always recommend going for the govt. Buses over the private ones outside the bus station as based on the experience we have found that there are very high chances of delay involved with private buses. Also, govt. Buses are always more reliable. Whichever bus you choose, just make sure to reach Rishikesh at least by 05:30 am. )

4.  Board a flight to Dehradun airport (Jolly Grant Airport) (21 km, 30 min). If you’re arriving by air, then come one day in advance.

Drop-Off Information

  • The designated drop-off point is Tapovan, Rishikesh.
  • Reach in Rishikesh by 6:30 to 7:30 pm.
  • Please consider planning your subsequent travel arrangements after 10:00 pm.

Note – In July and August month always have a buffer day in your Itinerary due to the Monsoon.

  • It’s highly advisable to keep a buffer day in your travel plan. If the buffer day is not used, it can be used to explore Rishikesh.

( If you prefer to travel independently to Base camp and don’t want to take TMV’s pick-up service, you can either take a government bus or book a private cab from Rishikesh. Your trek coordinator will provide guidance on how to arrange for the bus or cab booking. )

  • TMV offers comfortable transportation through Tempo Traveler, Bolero, or equivalent vehicles. If you wish to upgrade your mode of transportation, please contact your trek coordinator for further assistance.

We get that a travel and adventure enthusiast like you will be as bumped about cancelling a trek as us but we also understand that you may have to cancel the trek for any unforeseen reason and therefore the Cancellation Service of The Mountain Vibes does not return the advance amount paid by the trekkers instead we provide a voucher for the exact amount which is equivalent to the amount paid by you.

  1. You can book any other trek of your choice with The Mountain Vibes including the one you cancelled at any other given point of time with the voucher.
  2. The voucher is only valid for treks directly booked with The Mountain Vibes

  4. To redeem the Voucher text us on our official TMV number or TMV e-mail id.

Frequently Asked Question(FAQ)

What kind of accommodation will you get on the trek?

  1. You’ll be accommodated in a clean and hygienic guest house for the first two and the last two days of the trek and for the remaining you’ll be accommodated in tents and sleep bags will also be provided.

How many trekkers do we take in a group ?

  1. We’ll dispatch daily batches (almost all days) in the months of August, September and October. Where we welcome large groups and small groups likewise. Though if you want to trek solo or in a small group the trek can be customised according to your need. (Charges may differ according to your needs)

Do we provide accommodation if you come prior to the trek date ?

  1. No it is not in our policy though we might help you in finding accommodation, however we are not responsible if there are no guest houses/hotels available, also the charges for accommodation for days before the trekking date and after the trekking date are NOT INCLUDED and the trekker is accountable to bear all the expenses for the same.

Are the required trekking gears available for rent by the Mountain vibes?

  1. Yes, we provide all the necessary trekking gears on rent for which the trekker may pay after completing the trek. We also provide mule and poter services the cost of which is totally exclusive from the package and you will have to pay additional charges for the same

What is the age limit ?

  1. There is no particular age bar we welcome anyone and everyone who is a travel enthusiast, but children below the age of 16 are preferred to come along with their parents or gurdain and if they want to do a solo trek a non objection go ahead will be required from their parents end.

How safe is it to trek with The Mountain Vibes ?

  1. The sole purpose of The Mountain Vibes is to provide its trekkers with the best trekking experience with quality as well as safety. We take extra percautions when it comes to the safety of our trekkers.

Is there an option to offload my backpack on this trek?

  1. Yes, Offloading facility is available. You should book it in advance and pay us Rs.1200/- in total or book it after reaching there, and for that you need to pay Rs.1800/- in total. Bag weight should not more than 11 kgs.

     

     

What kind of shoes we should buy for Brahmatal trek?

  1. You should buy shoes which has these three features –Good grip, Ankle Support and additional water resistant layers. Generally, we advise Quechua Trek 100, MH 500 and MH 100

     

     

     

Is Brahmatal trek advisable for beginners?

  1. The Brahmatal trek is ideal for both beginners and experienced trekkers. The Brahmatal trek can get a bit rigorous for first-timers. Therefore, it is recommended to the first timers to maintain good physical stamina and read extensively. Any experienced trekker would love to go on this  trek for the love of its views and trekking.
