Santosh belongs to the beautiful town of lohajung in Uttarakhand, which serves as a base camp to many treks. His home itself is situated at 7,500 ft altitude which has made him experience the quaint and harsh sides of the mountains since he was a kid. He started working as a mountaineer with India hikes in 2013 and overlooked the Roopkund trek as a technical guide and assisted in quite a few rescues. Trekking taught him a lot and he fell in love with it in those years. He then completed his graduation from Dehradun, following which, he pursued Basic Mountaineering course and Advance mountaineering course from NIMS. He then spent his time in Munnar, Kerala and taught rock climbing for two years. He had made a decision to bring people closer to outdoor adventures and the mountains. He came back to the north and joined Trek the Himalayas as a trek leader and led groups through several difficult treks such as Kanamo peak, Chadar, Goechala, Rupin Pass, almost all the treks in Uttarakhand, and many more. He thanks these experiences as they made him the leader he is today. Since then, he has always strived to make each group that he takes feel like a family, so that they can be there raw selves in the mountains and share everything they feel. The mountain vibes is a dream come true where his aim of bringing people closer to mountains comes in form in the most spectacular way.
