Your Brahmatal trek begins from Rishikesh, where you’ll meet your driver and start a scenic mountain journey towards Lohajung. The drive unfolds mesmerizing views of the Garhwal Himalayas, with roads meandering through pine forests and deep valleys.
En route, stop at Devprayag, the sacred confluence of the Alaknanda and Bhagirathi rivers — each displaying distinct colors — and later pass through Karnaprayag, one of the famous Panch Prayags. After about 8–9 hours, you’ll reach Lohajung, a peaceful mountain village surrounded by lush forests. Settle into your guesthouse and rest for the night.

All trekkers are requested to arrive in Rishikesh by 06:00 am.
Pick-up Location: Back Stayz Laxman Jhula, near SBI Bank, Tapovan.

Before starting your Brahmatal adventure, you can reach Rishikesh from Delhi, Dehradun, or Chandigarh. Here are the most convenient ways:

  1. Overnight Train/Bus from Delhi to Rishikesh

    • A smooth and budget-friendly travel option.

  2. Overnight Train/Bus to Haridwar and Drive to Rishikesh

    • Distance: 25 km | Duration: 35 minutes (under normal traffic conditions).

  3. Overnight Train/Bus to Dehradun and Drive to Rishikesh

    • Distance: 50 km | Duration: 1 hour 20 minutes (under normal traffic conditions).

💡 Pro Tip: Prefer Government Buses over private ones near bus stations — they are more punctual and reliable. Based on our experience, private buses often face delays. Make sure to reach Rishikesh by 05:30 am.

  1. Flight to Dehradun (Jolly Grant Airport)

    • Distance: 21 km | Duration: 30 minutes to Rishikesh.

If arriving by flight, we recommend reaching a day before your trek begins for better rest and preparation.

Drop-Off Information

The designated drop-off point is Tapovan, Rishikesh.

  • Expected arrival time: 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm

  • Plan your onward travel after 10:00 pm for convenience.

🌧️ Note: During July and August (Monsoon season), always keep a buffer day in your travel plan to accommodate weather-related delays. If unused, you can enjoy exploring Rishikesh’s markets, yoga centers, or river cafes.

If you prefer to travel on your own to the Brahmatal Trek base camp, you can take a government bus or hire a private cab from Rishikesh. Your trek coordinator will guide you with all the necessary travel details and arrangements.

We ensure comfortable travel using Tempo Travelers, Boleros, or equivalent vehicles.

Health and Awareness
  1. Pulse rate at rest must be in between (60 to 90 beats per minute).

  2. Blood Pressure Reading must be in between (DIASTOLIC 70 – 90, SYSTOLIC 100 – 140 mm Hg).

  3. Respiratory rate at rest must be in between (12 to 20 breaths per minute).

  4. Should not have Liver and kidney issues.

  5. Should not have Diabetes Mellitus, Bronchial Asthma, Heart problems, Hypertension, etc.

  6. No pacemaker implant.

Government Employess
  1. Government Employees can avail the benefit of Special Casual Leave (SCL) when they join us for a trekking expedition. As per the rules of the Pay Commission, Special Casual Leave can be availed for up to 30 days in a calendar year for trekking/mountaineering expeditions through a registered organization. Trek The Himalayas is a registered adventure tour operator by the Indian Mountaineering Foundation (IMF) and the Ministry Of Tourism (MOT).
  2. Trekkers have to apply for leave at least 20 days before the trek departure date.
  3. This service is exclusive to Indian government employees and is applicable only for treks within India.

  1. Junior trekkers (below 15 years) should have a company of parents/guardians.
  2. Trekkers between 15 to 18 years can come solo with the disclaimer form signed by parent/guardian.
