Today’s journey will also offer you a sweeping view of the Sonmarg valley and Thajiwas glacier. However, the journey will be a strenuous one where you have to undertake almost 3 hours of ascent and 1 hour of descent.
Today’s campsite will be either at Shekdur or a little ahead of Shekdur. This is an enchanting rolling green meadow where small brooklets cut through the meadow offering you enough water source. This campsite is also surrounded by lofty Bhoj trees. Take rest for the day and this stunning campsite.
If the team feels spirited enough the campsite can be arranged at Nichnai, as well. Nichnai campsite will be around 2 more hours of trekking but offer equally amazing views.

There will be a descent to reach Vishansar. After reaching the Vishansar campsite lunch will be offered, you can visit the lake which is just a few minutes walk from the campsite. It is the first lake of the trek and definitely a memorable one. Lake also offers fishing activities which you may do after taking the permission from Srinagar Fishing Department. You can also watch the reflection of Kishnasar peak on the lake. You can watch the shades of the lake changing according to the colour of the sky during the entire day.

Today you will be gaining the maximum altitude at Gadsar Pass, which is situated at 13,750 ft. Over a span of 10 hours you will be charting around 14 kilometers to end Day 4 on a victorious note!
After a hot and healthy breakfast we will start early. Brace yourself as the starting of the day will welcome you with the Gadsar Pass, which is a steep ascent. Take your time and keep moving and in time you will reach the highest point of the pass and of this trek. You will be able to spot the Kishansar Lake on the way if you have not explored this lake the earlier day.
Today the maximum time will be taken up by the ascent to Gadsar Pass. From the pass to the campsite it will be a descent and will take around 2 more hours. On your way down you will be spotting the beautiful Gadsar Lake. Today, as the day is long, you will be getting packed lunch. At lunch time, rest, refuel and continue towards the campsite.
However, after descending from Gadsar Pass get ready tpo show your identity proof again at another checkpost. After descending from the pass on the way you can also spot the Yamsar lake, a small one in the itinerary. Today’s journey also is marked with the magical walk on the wild-flower studded, green carpet like meadow which will refresh and rejuvenate your senses, fanning the tiredness away!
On Day 4 our campsite will be near Gadsar Lake. This lake lies at an altitude of 12,000 ft. at the base of mighty snow-covered mountain ranges. You have earned your rest. Once you reach the campsite, settle down, rest and refresh. Afterwards you can explore the nearby areas of the campsite.
Vishansar lake to Gadsar via Gadsar Pass
Today is the day of Twin Lake visit – the Sat Sar lakes. From Gadsar lake we will chart towards the twin lakes of Satsar. Today’s highest altitude will be 12,000ft and the entire take will take around 8-9 hours till we reach our campsite. Remember there will be a few army checkposts today where you will need to submit your IDs and this will take some time. So, get mentally prepared for another eventful day and set out to Day 5 campsite!
Satsar Twin lakes are also known as Mengen Top. These lakes are situated in the middle of two mountains. Gentle descent starting from Gadsar that may take an hour will be followed by a steep ascent that may take around 3 hrs and then after will be getting a breather with gentle, flat meadow walk. This is the summary of the trail today.
Today you will walk through a section, which is called Maegandob and around this area you may spot a few craters towards your right of the trail. Soon afterwards there will be the first of the Satsar Lakes. The name Satsar means seven lakes. Satsar is known to be a collection of seven lakes, hence the name. The ever changing color of the lake as per the time of the day is a natural wonder that you will witness.
Bhagwabasa T Roopkund And Back To Bedni Bugyal
Today we will come across the famous Gangabal Twin Lakes and will cross the third pass of this trek, Zaj Pass. Today will be majorly marked with descent except the ascent to the Zaj Pass. The entire trek may take around 6-7 hours and we will cross around 12 kilometers.
Today’s trail almost follows the same pattern of ascent and descent. From the campsite after a good spread of breakfast we will start. After almost 30-40 minutes of ascending you will come across the biggest of the Satsar Lakes and this is also the last one in the Satsar sequence. Today’s terrain will bring a new challenge with rocky and boulder sections. After this lake there will be a descent towards a forest line crossing which you will again follow a zig-zag trail.
After an ascent of about 2 hours there will be a ridge at approximately 13,000 ft. and from here you get the stunning view of the twin Gangbal lakes. You will see that a stream is taking water from the higher lake to the lower, a wonderful sight to witness. There are two more lakes on either side of the twin lakes. The twin lakes of Gangabal and Nandkol, connected by a stream, are located approximately 20 minutes away from each other. One needs to cross the stream to reach the other lake.
After exploring the twin lakes and spending good time soaking in the stunning view of these alpine lakes, retire to the campsite for a well-deserved rest and refreshment.
Patar Nachauni To Lohajung Via Bedni And Wan
Today is the last day of the trek and we will journey from Gangabal lake to Naranag, and then drive onwards to Srinagar. Today is a long day so prepare yourself mentally. The total distance of the trek is 15 kilometers and may take around 7 hours in total.
The trail today is a continuous descent till you reach the last point of the trek – Naranang at around 7000 ft. There will be forest crossing through a well-laid trail to reach the end point of this trek. The trail will pass through dense pine forests offering a refreshment to your senses.
As you keep descending downhill civilization begins to emerge and you get the mobile network as well. The descent is a steep one, especially towards the end, and at many other points so be careful with the knees and ankles.
Once you enter the Naranag there will be pre-arranged cabs waiting for the team to transfer you to Srinagar.
