Trek to Ali Bedni Bugyal is one of a kind. In this trek you will journey through Asia’s largest alpine meadow! The exciting journey starts from Rishikesh and we will drive you to Lohajung. From the spiritual land of Rishikesh as we drive to Lohajung you can see the holy river Ganga and the three famous confluences on the way. The journey from Rishikesh to Lohajung will take around 11 hours, and on the way you will be greeted by stunning natural sceneries.
On the way you will come across three Prayags, Devprayag, Rudraprayag and Karnaprayag among the famous five Prayags. Do not forget to come down, witness the famous confluences and bask in the spiritual energy.
You will reach Lohajung late afternoon. Lohajung is a high altitude quaint town basking under the glory of Mt. Nanda Ghunti. If time permits after you reach, relax and recharge with hot snacks and drinks, you can take a stroll and enjoy the stunning sunset colors.
At night, you will have comfortable accommodation at the guest house where briefing and other necessary information about the trek will be shared by your trek leaders. Next you will have a sumptuous dinner, followed by good rest for the day.

Wake up early to catch the mesmerising view of sunrise and take blessings from Mt. Nanda Ghunti! Today we will trek to Didna village and stay at a homestay overnight.
After having a warm and filling breakfast we will bid adieu to the Lohajung village for now and start on the trail to Didna village. At first there will be well defined trail leading to the magical forest. When you are trekking in winter this forest will have powdery snow covering the trees setting up a magical winter wonderland. After trekking for some time we will come to the river Neelganga. Enjoy the soothing sound of this gushing river, relax for some time before resuming the journey.
From Neelganga there will be a steep ascent that will lead to the Didna village, our second day’s destination. This ascent can be tiring, so try taking short breaks and keep yourself hydrated. The ascend is long and after almost 2 hours we our destination, Didna, a quaint, isolated mountain village. The peace and remoteness together with the fascinating natural set-up will calm you and provide the necessary relaxation after the tiring hike.
In evening you can treat yourself to a stroll around the village, which will be also good for your acclimatization. You can also experience the rich mountain culture and heritage. At night have dinner early and rest well to get ready for the third day.

Today is the highlight of the trek, visit to Ali Bugyal. So, get ready for an exciting adventure. The vast, breathtaking alpine meadow, the famous bugyals are waiting for you! Get up by the appointed time by the trek lead, have a warm breakfast, pack your rucksack and get ready for the journey.
Today we will start the journey from Didna village and visit Khobal Tal first and one way we will go through the stunning alpine meadow, Ali Bugyal.
At the beginning of the trek you will cross through a dense forest, which will gradually open up to take you in the fold of the rolling Ali bugyal. On the way you will come across Tolpani, which is the only water source for today’s trail. This spot will be for a short rest, refilling the water bottles before resuming the journey towards today’s destination.
At the end of the forest the landscape will gradually reveal the vast rolling Ali Bugyals where, you will be walking along a ridge. Witness the stunning Mount Mrigthuni and Mount Trishul toering in the distance from Ali bugyal. In winter this meadow is covered in deep snow, a perfect set-up for a winter playground. Soak in the breathtaking view, experience the serenity and take loads of photos!
After enjoying your time at the Ali Bugyal get ready to resume the trek to reach our destination for today, Khobal Tal. Today our campsite will be under the sky in tents. Once you reach, rest, recharge and get ready to spot the million stars in the night sky.

Day 4 is the trek when you reach the highest point of this journey. However, this is not the only highlight of Day 4. Today’s journey will offer you many more surprises that you discover once you start your journey. So, get up, pack-up and after a hot and filling breakfast start your journey.
Today we will reach Bedni bugyal and go to Bedni top at 12,500 ft! From here you will be having a panoramic view of captivating mountain peaks – Mt. Chaukhamba, Neelkanth, Nanda Ghunti, and Mt. Trishul. Experience this amphitheater and soak in the glory of these majestic peaks. We will also visit the famous Bedni Kund which has deep spiritual significance. Bedni Kund is famous for being the key site of the Raj Jat Yatra, which is observed every 12 years!
From Bedni bugyal we will then have to descend towards Ghairoli Patal, which will be the Day 4 campsite. The trail is steep but rewarding with stunning mountain vista. Ghairoli Patal, offers a calming campsite setting within a magical forest. Once you reach the campsite relax, and enjoy the surroundings.

Day 5, our last and final day of the journey! Starting from Ghairoli Patal we will continue our journey towards Wan, and from there we will drive back to Lohajung. Today after you wake up, take a leisurely breakfast, get ready to chart on the last leg of the trek towards Wan.
The journey will be a steep descent towards Wan. We will again come across Neelganga river, have a gradual ascent, and reach Ran Ka Dhar, where you can rest up for some time. From Ran Ka Dhar after a short while we will reach Wan village. Here our trek ends and we will be transported back to Lohajung through a short drive.
After reaching Lohajung, settle up at the guest house and get ready to share your experience at the certification event. Then have a warm dinner and rest.

Today you will be coming back to Rishikesh. Remember that you will reach late in the evening so plan your onward journey accordingly.
Pulse rate at rest must be in between (60 to 90 beats per minute).

First, you can arrive at Delhi, Dehradun airport or Chandigarh. The journey from these locations to Rishikesh is explained below.
1. Take overnight train/bus to Rishikesh.
2. Take overnight train/bus to Haridwar and drive to Rishikesh (25km | 35 min drive with normal traffic).
3. Take overnight train/bus to Dehradun and drive to Rishikesh (50km | 1hr 20min drive with normal traffic).
( We always recommend going for the govt. Buses over the private ones outside the bus station as based on the experience we have found that there are very high chances of delay involved with private buses. Also, govt. Buses are always more reliable. Whichever bus you choose, just make sure to reach Rishikesh at least by 05:30 am. )
4. Board a flight to Dehradun airport (Jolly Grant Airport) (21 km, 30 min). If you’re arriving by air, then come one day in advance.
Note – In July and August month always have a buffer day in your Itinerary due to the Monsoon.
( If you prefer to travel independently to Base camp and don’t want to take TMV’s pick-up service, you can either take a government bus or book a private cab from Rishikesh. Your trek coordinator will provide guidance on how to arrange for the bus or cab booking. )
We get that a travel and adventure enthusiast like you will be as bumped about cancelling a trek as us but we also understand that you may have to cancel the trek for any unforeseen reason and therefore the Cancellation Service of The Mountain Vibes does not return the advance amount paid by the trekkers instead we provide a voucher for the exact amount which is equivalent to the amount paid by you.

By Road:
Rishikesh is well-connected by road to major cities in India. You can take a bus or hire a taxi from Delhi or Dehradun to reach Rishikesh. Once you reach Rishikesh, you can reach the TMV office by taking a taxi or auto-rickshaw. The office is located in the Tapovan area of Rishikesh, near Laxman Jhula Bridge.
By Train:
Rishikesh railway station is well-connected to major cities in India. You can hire a taxi from the railway station or take a shared auto-rickshaw to reach the TMV office.
By Air:
The nearest airport to Rishikesh is Jolly Grant Airport, Dehradun, which is located about 21 km away. You can hire a taxi or take a bus from the airport to Rishikesh.
Yes, Offloading facility is available. You should book it in advance and pay us Rs.1200/- in total or book it after reaching there, and for that you need to pay Rs.1500/- in total. Bag weight should not more than 11 kgs.
People suffering from Bronchitis, Asthma, High blood pressure, Epilepsy (got faints), TB , Heart problem or on higher BMI side are strictly not allowed to go on Ali Bedni Bugyal trek. Apart from this if you had any medical history, please let us know.
During the Ali Bedni Bugyal trek in the guest house, it will be on triple/quad sharing bases male and females separate and during camping, we provide twin sharing tents with all-season tents. We will provide sleeping, tent, mattress. It is among the central equipment.
No. Alcohol and smoking isn’t allowed while on trek. It is totally misconception that it will keep you warm. Your body need to acclimatize properly and for that eat properly and drink enough water; these things will keep you warm.
The best time to go for the Ali Bedni Bugyal Trek is from May to June and from September to November. During these months, the weather is generally pleasant and stable, with clear skies and mild temperatures, making it ideal for trekking. However, it’s important to note that the weather in the mountains can be unpredictable, so it’s always advisable to check the weather forecast before embarking on the trek. It’s also recommended to avoid trekking during the monsoon season (July and August) as the trails can become slippery and dangerous.
