Safety Tips

Acclimatization: Spiti Valley is at a high altitude, so acclimatization is crucial. Spend a day or two at a lower altitude to adjust before starting your trek.

Physical Preparation: The trek involves long hours of walking and can be physically demanding. Prepare with regular exercise, focusing on stamina and leg strength.

Weather Preparedness: The weather in Spiti can be unpredictable, with sudden drops in temperature. Carry layers of warm clothing, including a good quality down jacket, gloves, and thermal wear.

Altitude Sickness: Be aware of the symptoms of Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS), such as headaches, nausea, and shortness of breath. Descend immediately if symptoms worsen.

Hydration: Keep yourself well-hydrated, as the dry air and high altitude can cause dehydration. Drink water regularly, even if you don’t feel thirsty.

Sun Protection: The high altitude and clear skies can lead to intense sun exposure. Wear high SPF sunscreen, sunglasses, and a wide-brimmed hat.
