  • The journey will begin with your arrival at Bawta. You are expected to reach Bawta via Shimla you may book your transportation on prior notice with us (additional cost applies).

    Bawta is a tiny village 195 KM away from Shimla. On your way to Bawta you’ll pass some of the most beautiful views, make sure to click all those and enjoy the 8-9 hours.

Bawta to Jakha

  • Altitude: 2,750 m/ 9,000 ft.
  • Trek Distance: 5 km | 4 hrs.
  • Altitude Gain: 400 m/ 1,300 ft.
  • Difficult level of ascent, steep climb.
  •  

All continuous ascent of 4-5 hours is waiting for you so be prepared but along with that you’ll be treated with mesmerising views and will be introduced to the wildlife and natural beauty of the Himalayas.

Cross the highest and the last village of Rupin pass trek, hydrate yourself and take proper rest on tea stalls. End your day in home stays.

Jakha to Dandreyash Thatch
  • Altitude: 3,550m/ 11,700ft.
  • Trek Distance: 11 km | 8 hrs.
  • Altitude Gain: 800m/ 2,700ft.
  • Easy but long walk.
  • Most of the walk is along the river.
  •  

This day’s trek is comparatively easy but a long one as you’ve to walk for 11 Kilometres straight. You’ll be accompanied by the river as most of the trek on this day will include walking along the river.

Refill your bottles with the freshwater of the Himalayas. The long trail is covered by white, pink, purple rhododendron trees along with silver birches. Walk on the snow bridges and click good pictures..

Packed lunch will be served and your abode for the day will be tents!!

Dandreyash Thatch to Upper Waterfall

  • Altitude: 4050m/ 13,300 ft.
  • Trek Distance: 5 km | 3-4 hrs.
  • Can refill water from small streams.
  • Most scenic day of the trek.

The day is filled with positive and serene beauty all around the ascent is moderate but be cautious of the tricky trail near the snow patches.

Keep away from snow patches due to the altitude there might be chances of AMS don’t worry The Mountain Vibes team will be there for you and help you in case of any challenge faced by you.

Our team will prep you with tips and tricks for the summit day and how to trek over the snow patches and dealing with the snow.

After crossing the last snow bridge you’ll soon reach the campsite, enjoy a hot lunch at the site.

Upper Waterfall to Ronti Gad, cross Rupin Pass

  • Altitude: Rupin Pass 4,700 m/ 15,350ft | Ronti Gad 3,750 m/ 12,300 ft.
  • Trek Distance: 12 km | 10-11 hrs.
  • Altitude Gain: 650 m/ 2,050 ft.
  • Altitude Loss: 950 m/ 3,050 ft.
  • Difficult Level of ascent. Longest and most exciting day of the trek.
  •  
  • Be prepared as this day will challenge the adventurer inside you and it is going to be a long day of trekking. Starting your day very early at 3 am set off on fresh snow for the summit hike. The final view from the summit is magnificent and something different. You will finally see the Himalayan peaks in their full glory face to face, click a lot of good pictures, and soak in all the serenity, the fresh air, and the sense of success as you begin descending back in 15 minutes or so. Take a good sight of Nanda Ghunti, Trishul, Nanda Devi, Kalanka, Changbang, Dronagiri, Hathi Parvat, Ghodi Parvat, Mana, Kamet, Abl Gamin and so many more peaks of the Himalayas. The descent can pose some challenges because of the melting snow, so be extra careful.

Rest/ Acclimatization Day

  • The day can be reserved as a buffer or a rest day. The day can be used at any camp depending on the stamina of the trekkers. Weather also plays an important role in deciding which campsite can be used for resetting. On a good weather day where the trekkers are also able to trek we camp in order to camp at Dandreyash.

Drive to Shimla

  • A moderate descent till Sangla and you’ll be reaching Sangla around 1-2 pm and will leave for Shimla around 3 pm. It is important that you make sure that you have prior hotel bookings for a stay at Shimla as you’ll be reaching around 1 am. And with this the adventurous trek will come to an end but The Mountain Vibes is one stop destination for more treks like these and will continue to provide the best of our services to you.
Health and Awareness

  1. Pulse rate at rest must be in between (60 to 90 beats per minute).

  2. Blood Pressure Reading must be in between (DIASTOLIC 70 – 90, SYSTOLIC 100 – 140 mm Hg).

  3. Respiratory rate at rest must be in between (12 to 20 breaths per minute).

  4. Should not have Liver and kidney issues.

  5. Should not have Diabetes Mellitus, Bronchial Asthma, Heart problems, Hypertension, etc.

  6. No pacemaker implant.

  7. People with Sinus issues, Epilepsy please contact to trek coordinator before booking the trek.

  8. If your BMI is not normal, Please contact our Trek coordinator before Trek booking.

Government Employess

  1. Government Employees can avail the benefit of Special Casual Leave (SCL) when they join us for a trekking expedition. As per the rules of the Pay Commission, Special Casual Leave can be availed for up to 30 days in a calendar year for trekking/mountaineering expeditions through a registered organization. Trek The Himalayas is a registered adventure tour operator by the Indian Mountaineering Foundation (IMF) and the Ministry Of Tourism (MOT).
  2. Trekkers have to apply for leave at least 20 days before the trek departure date.
  3. This service is exclusive to Indian government employees and is applicable only for treks within India.

Kids Guidelines

  1. Junior trekkers (below 15 years) should have a company of parents/guardians.
  2. Trekkers between 15 to 18 years can come solo with the disclaimer form signed by parent/guardian.

How To Reach

It is essential for everyone to arrive at Shimla (05:30 am)
Meeting Place: Shimla Old Bus Stand.

Once you have reached Shimla, TMV will manage the rest of your travel arrangements, if you have opted for TMV’s pick-up service, you can select this option during the booking process by adding it as an add-on (book it at least 10 days before trek date)

It is advisable to reach Shimla a day before to avoid any kind of delays.

Options to reach Shimla:

First, you can arrive at Chandigarh, Delhi, Kalka, or Shimla airport. The journey from these locations to Shimla is explained below.

1. Take overnight bus to Shimla from Delhi or Chandigarh, taking a bus from Chandigarh is the most ideal option.

-Chandigarh to Shimla Bus Stand : 120 km | 4 hr.

-Delhi to Shimla Bus Stand : 350 km | 10 hr.

( We always recommend going for the govt. Buses over the private ones outside the bus station as based on the experience we have found that there are very high chances of delay involved with private buses. Also, govt. Buses are always more reliable. Whichever bus you choose, just make sure to reach Shimla at least by 05:30 am. )

2. Take a Train to Kalka and drive to Shimla. One can take the pleasure of a toy train, If you’re arriving by Train, then come one day in advance.

3. Take a flight to Shimla airport (Jubbarhatti airport) (22 km, 50 min). If you’re arriving by air, then come one day in advance.

The designated drop-off point is Shimla old bus stand.

Reach Shimla by 11:00 pm to 1:00 am, Please arrange your hotel and make further bookings in Shimla accordingly. 

It’s highly advisable to keep a buffer day in your travel plan. If the buffer day is not needed, it can be used to explore Shimla.

( If you prefer to travel independently, you can either take a government bus or book a private cab. Your trek coordinator will provide guidance on how to arrange for the bus or cab booking. )

TMV offers comfortable transportation through Tempo Traveler, Bolero, or equivalent vehicles. If you wish to upgrade your mode of transportation, please contact your trek coordinator for further assistance.
