Your Kuari Pass trek begins with a scenic drive from Dehradun to Joshimath, the base camp for the trek. Report at Prince Chowk, Dehradun by 6:00 AM if you’ve booked transportation through The Mountain Vibes.
The journey takes you through Rishikesh, Devprayag, Rudraprayag, Karnaprayag, and Nandaprayag, following the confluences of the sacred rivers Alaknanda and Bhagirathi. You’ll drive along winding mountain roads lined with pine and deodar forests, with occasional glimpses of the mighty Ganga and Alaknanda rivers.
Stop for breakfast and lunch en route at local eateries, enjoying regional Garhwali cuisine. Arrive in Joshimath by evening and check into your hotel. This charming Himalayan town serves as the gateway to several treks and the Auli ski slopes.
After settling in, stroll through the local market for last-minute essentials or simply relax and acclimatize before dinner and an overnight stay.

After breakfast, drive to Tugasi Village, the starting point of your Kuari Pass trek. The short drive offers beautiful views of terraced farms and traditional mountain homes. From Tugasi, begin your gradual ascent toward Gulling Campsite.
The trail winds through oak and rhododendron forests, with the occasional sound of mountain streams echoing in the distance. On clear days, you’ll catch your first glimpse of Dronagiri Peak.
Reach Gulling by afternoon and settle into your tents surrounded by serene landscapes. Spend the evening relaxing, watching the sun dip behind the hills, followed by a warm dinner around the campsite.

Wake up early to the sound of birds and the crisp mountain air. After breakfast, begin your trek from Gulling to Khullara Campsite. The trail ascends gradually through dense oak and rhododendron forests, opening up to stunning alpine meadows.
As you climb higher, breathtaking views of Nanda Devi, Hathi Parvat, and Dronagiri come into sight. Stop midway for packed lunch and enjoy the mountain panoramas.
By afternoon, arrive at Khullara, one of the most scenic campsites on the route. The vast meadows here offer a front-row view of snow-clad Himalayan peaks. Spend your evening unwinding and enjoying dinner under a star-studded sky.

Today is the highlight of your Kuari Pass trek. Begin early after breakfast for the ascent to the Kuari Pass Summit. The steep climb rewards you with 360° views of the Garhwal Himalayas, including Nanda Devi, Chaukhamba, Kamet, Trishul, and Dronagiri.
The summit, located at 12,516 ft, offers unmatched views that make the Kuari Pass one of India’s most iconic trekking destinations. Spend time taking photographs and enjoying a packed lunch at the top before retracing your steps back to Khullara.
Arrive by late afternoon and relax at the campsite, savoring a warm dinner as you reflect on the day’s adventure.

After breakfast, begin your descent from Khullara to Tugasi Village. The route passes through rhododendron forests and terraced fields, with scenic glimpses of Himalayan peaks in the distance.
Upon reaching Tugasi, board your vehicle for a short drive back to Joshimath. Check into your hotel and enjoy a relaxing evening. You can visit the Narsingh Temple or explore the small market area.
Celebrate the completion of your trek with your group over dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel.

After breakfast, begin your return journey from Joshimath to Dehradun. The drive retraces your route through Nandaprayag, Rudraprayag, Devprayag, and Rishikesh, offering one last glimpse of the majestic rivers and valleys of Uttarakhand.

It is essential for all trekkers to arrive in Rishikesh by 06:00 am.
Pick-up Location: Back Stayz Laxman Jhula, near SBI Bank, Tapovan.
Before reaching Rishikesh, you can choose to travel via Delhi, Dehradun, or Chandigarh. Here are the recommended routes:
💡 Pro Tip: We highly recommend taking Government Buses over private ones outside the bus stations, as they are more reliable and punctual. Whichever mode of transport you choose, make sure you reach Rishikesh by 05:30 am.
The designated drop-off point is Tapovan, Rishikesh.
🌧️ Note: During July and August (monsoon season), always keep an extra buffer day in your travel plan in case of weather delays. If unused, you can spend it exploring Rishikesh’s scenic cafes and ghats.
If you wish to travel on your own to the Kuari Pass base camp, you can take a government bus or book a private cab from Rishikesh. Our trek coordinator will share all the necessary guidance and contact details for arranging transportation.
