Your journey to the mesmerizing Ali Bedni Bugyal begins from Rishikesh — the yoga capital of India. As you drive along the banks of the sacred Ganga, witness its calm waves merging into the rugged Himalayan landscape. The 11-hour drive takes you through picturesque towns and three of the famous Panch Prayags — Devprayag, Rudraprayag, and Karnaprayag — where the Alaknanda River meets its tributaries in a divine confluence.
By evening, you’ll reach Lohajung, a quaint mountain village surrounded by dense forests and majestic peaks like Nanda Ghunti. There’s an interesting legend about the village’s name — it’s said that Goddess Parvati fought a demon named Lohasur here (“Lohajung” means the war with Lohasur).

Wake up to a beautiful sunrise over the Himalayas. After breakfast, start your first day of trekking toward Didna Village. The trail winds through thick oak and rhododendron forests, with occasional ascents and descents leading to the sparkling Neelganga River — a perfect place to pause and admire nature’s calm energy.
From Neelganga, a steep climb of about two hours brings you to Didna Village, a charming hamlet with traditional stone houses and friendly locals. The views here are stunning, and the village offers a perfect glimpse into authentic Himalayan life.
Spend your evening exploring the village, getting to know the locals, and tasting home-cooked meals before retiring for the night.

Today is one of the most scenic days of your trek. After a hearty breakfast, we’ll begin our ascent through dense forests toward Ali Bugyal, one of Asia’s largest and most beautiful alpine meadows.
As you pass through Tolpani, the only water source en route, refill your bottles and take a break. Once you emerge from the forest, the landscape opens up into vast rolling meadows with mesmerizing views of Mt. Trishul and Mt. Mrigthuni. During winter, these grasslands are covered in snow, creating a surreal white wonderland.
Take your time to capture the beauty and serenity of Ali Bugyal before heading towards Khobal Tal, your campsite for the night. Relax under a clear, starlit sky, enjoying the silence and peace of the mountains.

After morning tea and breakfast, continue your journey toward Bedni Bugyal, another breathtaking high-altitude meadow. The trail is gentle, and the surroundings open up to panoramic views of Mt. Chaukhamba, Neelkanth, Nanda Ghunti, and Trishul.
At the heart of this Bugyal lies Bedni Kund, a sacred lake deeply rooted in mythology and associated with the Nanda Devi Raj Jat Yatra. The reflection of the mighty peaks in its crystal waters makes for a magical sight.
After spending some time at Bedni, start descending through lush green forests to reach Ghairoli Patal, your campsite for the night. Enjoy dinner by the campsite and fall asleep listening to the sounds of the forest.
Altitude:
Start your morning with a warm cup of tea and breakfast amid the serene wilderness. The descent to Wan Village begins with a steep trail leading once again to the Neelganga River. After crossing the river, a short ascent will take you to Ran Ka Dhar, a picturesque point offering splendid views.
A final stretch brings you to Wan, marking the end of your beautiful trekking experience. From here, a short drive takes you back to Lohajung, where you can rest, enjoy the evening with your group, and celebrate your successful trek.
Drive Distance: 250 km | 10 hrs
Wake up early and get ready for your return journey to Rishikesh. The scenic drive retraces your route through the three Prayags, offering one last chance to admire the mountain vistas and river valleys.
As you reach Rishikesh by evening, it’s time to bid farewell to your fellow trekkers and carry back lifelong memories of this unforgettable journey.
For those with extra time, Rishikesh offers a perfect way to unwind — from yoga retreats to river rafting and tranquil ghats along the Ganges.
All trekkers are required to arrive in Rishikesh by 6:00 am on the first day of the trek.

You can first arrive at Delhi, Dehradun, or Chandigarh – and then continue your journey to Rishikesh. Here are your travel options:
We recommend using government buses over private ones outside the station, as they are more punctual and reliable. Make sure you reach Rishikesh by 5:30 am at the latest.
By Flight:
Board a flight to Dehradun Airport (Jolly Grant Airport) – just 21 km (30 min) from Rishikesh.
If flying, plan to arrive one day before the pick-up to avoid delays.
The drop point after the trek is Tapovan, Rishikesh.
You can expect to reach Rishikesh between 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm on the last day.
Kindly plan any onward travel after 10:00 pm for a safe buffer.
During July and August (monsoon season), always keep one buffer day in your travel plan to account for weather-related delays. If not used, enjoy exploring Rishikesh!
